Which NFC Chip?

We have various tags/stickers and products to choose from and within each of these products sits a very clever NFC chip. Each tag/sticker/product we sell has a built in integrated circuit (IC) which is a chip with an antenna. These IC’s have different names. We only use exceptional quality NXP chips in our products to give great performance: NTAG203, NTAG210, NTAG213, NTAG215, NTAG216, Ultralight C, Ultralight EV1, standard MIFARE® 1k EV1 and DESfire 4K and have listed these chips on the guide below to give further technical information.

All the products in our store are clearly marked with the type of chip housed in the product. The most commonly used and highly recommended NFC chip is the NTAG203/NTAG213 as this is compatible with all NFC devices and it has excellent scanning distances. Most of the products on our website have the NTAG203/NTAG213 chip however we can produce our products with the chip of your choice and can advise on the best IC to give your product maximum performance.

This means that one chip will have a shorter or longer scanning distance than another. We give a scan score out of 5 on all the tags shown above. Our scanning distances are scored as follows so you can choose the best chip to suit your project:

1=Poor   2=Average   3=Good   4=Very Good   5=Excellent
